Center of Rare Urogenital Diseases and Complex Conditions
Assoc. prof. Gilvydas Verkauskas is a coordinator of the Center of Rare Urogenital Diseases and Complex Conditions since 2016. Graduated from Kaunas Medical Academy in 1992, general surgery residency in 1996 and pediatric surgery residency in 1998. After training in Göteborg university hospital, Sweden, he completed PhD thesis in 2000. Trained and worked as a pediatric surgeon and pediatric urologist in the Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences Kaunas Clinics, Necker and Robert Debré university hospitals in Paris, children‘s hospitals in USA, Australia, UK. From 2009 he is the head of Pediatric Urology Department and from 2018 - the head of Pediatric surgery, Orthopedics and Traumatology center in Children‘s Hospital. Published or co-authored more than 20 WoS journal articles. Member of European Pediatric Surgery Association and European Society for Paediatric Urology.
