In the Rare hearing disorders and hearing implantation center, a multidisciplinary team consists of different professionals working at VUH SK, and at Children’s hospital, affiliate of VUH SK. Multidisciplinarity of VUH SK ensures individualized and tailored to patient needs highly specialized care.
- The Otorhinolaryngologist-audiologist, using advanced technologies, evaluates the degree of hearing impairment and determines the diagnosis, prepares the patient for the operation, evaluates the changes in hearing after the operation, and coordinates the work of the multidisciplinary team.
- Otorhinolaryngologist-surgeon - evaluates indications and contraindications to surgery, performs cochlear implantation or reconstructive ear operation with middle ear hearing system implantation.
- Nurse-audiometrist performs all types of audiometric examinations.
- Radiologist evaluates computer tomography and magnetic resonance imaging and interpret radiological changes in the auditory system.
- Development pediatrician provides child development assessment, contribution and improvement of the network of services for children with developmental disorders, serving many different needs of children with developmental and behavioral disorders, and their families by providing outpatient and inpatient healthcare services.
- Geneticist evaluates genetic causes of hearing impairment, interprets the results of specialized genetic tests.
- Anesthesiologist performs general anesthesia in pediatric and adult population during surgery and radiological examination for children.
