Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos Center of Rheumatology forms the main basis of Adult Center of Rare Rheumatic Diseases. Diagnostics and differential diagnostics of autoimmune arthritis, systemic connective tissue diseases, vasculitis is very complex and binds to co-operate us with other centers like radiology, laboratory medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, hematology, angiology, genetics. Center of Rheumatology has accumulated extensive clinical and scientific experience, co-operates with other national healthcare providers, organizes educational and practical activities.
Center of Rare Rheumatic Diseases provides both inpatient and outpatient healthcare services. We have also day hospital services for patients under the treatment with biologics. Currently, there are 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 4 doctors and 4 doctoral candidates working in our center. We organize daily meetings to discuss complex rheumatology patients and multidisciplinary team meetings, consultations. Rheumatology center is also partly integrated in the Center of Pulmonary Hypertension and co-operates with other rare disease teams, e.g. Amyloidosis. Center of Rare Rheumatic Diseases also organizes clinical studies, which enhance knowledge and improve treatment capabilities.
