Today Anesthesiology and reanimatology clinic consists of 3 centers:
- Center of Anesthesiology, Intensive care and Pain Management (established in 2002 at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos; previously run by assist. prof. Alis Baublys and prof. Jūratė Šipylaitė; current chief – prof. Tomas Jovaiša)
- Center of Anesthesiology, Reanimatology and Critical Care Medicine (established in 2002 at Republic Vilnius University Hospital; previously run by prof. Juozas Ivaškevičius, current chief – prof. Saulius Vosylius)
- Center of Toxicology (established in 2010 at Republic Vilnius University Hospital, chief of the center – Robertas Badaras, MD, PhD)

In 1994 here the first Pain Management Clinic in Lithuania was opened where multidisciplinary team continues caring for patients with pain disorders up to nowadays

Here we have the specialized Department and ICU of newborn and children with congenital heart disease, which is unique such unit in Lithuania

Members of our center run the Clinical Nutrition Group in this hospital, consult and treat patients who need enteral or parenteral nutrition at home

We have built a lot of experience providing ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) services for critically ill patients, surgical patients in the operating room and intensive care units. ECMO personnel help patients with critical heart failure, respiratory failure or prolonged resuscitation. We have a mobile ECMO team as well, that is able to transport ECMO patients from other hospitals.

The staff is involved in multiple medical trials helping to improve the care of our patients
- Modern anesthesia, perioperative care and pain management for patients undergoing abdominal, cardiac, vascular, ENT, obstetric, gynecological, urological, eye surgery, plastic-reconstructive, orthopedic-traumatological, neurosurgical and interventional radiology procedures
- Anesthesia, perioperative management and intensive care for patients undergoing heart, liver, kidney, pancreas-kidney complex or corneal transplantation
- Consultations for patients suffering with various pain syndromes; pharmacological and invasive pain management strategies are applied if needed
- Intensive care for patients with critical conditions, including sepsis, multiple organ dysfunction and other critical conditions. Advanced organ support methods, such as mechanical lung ventilation, ECMO, renal replacement therapy, extracorporeal liver (MARS, bilirubin sorption) or cardiac support (intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation, ventricular assist devices)
- Psychological and physical rehabilitation services for intensive care patients

Our staff takes place in preparing medical graduates and post-graduates according to the requirements of European Union and WHO, give lectures and seminars for medicine, public health, odontology, pharmaceutics, nursing students. Around 40 Anesthesiology and Reanimatology residents rotate in our center annually

We organize CME (continuing medical education) programs and courses for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care specialists, as well as other specialty doctors and nurses

Clinical Nutrition Group arranges Course on enteral and parenteral nutrition and European Society of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition Life-Long Learning courses
